Taking Something by Elizabeth Lee RELEASE DAY!

Book Blurb:

I know what you’re thinking. “You were such a jerk, Nick!” Believe me, I know I screwed up the best thing I had going in my life, but that was kind of my thing. I’d learned how to run cons before I could even form complete sentences, and I’d always been selfish. But I changed. Lila forgave me, my brother and I were getting along, and I was trying to make a name for myself in the music world.

At least that was what I was trying to do when I negotiated my way into the recording studio with pop superstar Sadie Sinclair. I thought it would be a piece of cake—charm my way into her heart and into her record label’s good graces.

Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I got mixed up in a web of lies, manipulation, and deception. A web that had me questioning my motives and desires altogether.

Was the fame and fortune really worth the price?

Review:

At first when I read the book blurb, I didn't know if I would like this book. I also didn't know what was going to happen, so I was apprehensive to begin the book. But I was surprised by how much I ended up liking the book.

I haven't read the first book yet, because when I saw that Lila was going to pick between two guys, I couldn't bring myself to do it, until I read this book. I'm not a fan of love triangles, so now after finally reading this book I can safely go into the first book knowing that everything will be okay.

But back to this book. I hated Sadie. She is a complete bitch and very controlling. I didn't know how this book was going to end because Sadie was so crazy and Nick was kind of a pussy most of the book, by not going after his true love. But no worries, Nick takes his head out of his ass just in time.

So on the other side of the spectrum of Sadie, there's Gia, Sadie's assistant, and "best friend". Gia is fantastic. She is perfect for Nick, but she has her own secrets, big, BIG secrets that she keeps hidden, for the wrong reasons. But before the secret comes out Nick and Gia create an easygoing friendship, and Nick wants more, but he is still with Sadie, and Gia won't do that to Sadie, because of their history with boys.

Once Nick finds out Gia's secret, they become closer and their relationship becomes more dangerous to have. At this point Sadie becomes a crazy, nasty bitch (excuse my language). And that's where you have to read the book to find out what happens when there's a crazy person (and I mean crazy, crazy, run for the hills, crazy) and two people completely in love, but it's forbidden.

I thought Elizabeth did a wonderful job. She developed the characters wonderfully. They were deep, had their problems to work through, and sorry if I spoil it for anyone, but she gave me the HEA that I crave. So Elizabeth, you did amazing with this book, and I'll be a fan for life.
